The Ministry of Social Solidarity is the government body responsible for providing social safety networks for Egypt's most vulnerable citizens. The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity’s “Forsa” (opportunity) program partnered with Warshatna to help find stable employment opportunities and fixed incomes to citizens with low or no income.
The Egyptian Social Solidarity Ministry offers a new program called ‘Forsa’ in Upper Egypt to provide job opportunities for youth in different fields, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and NGOs. The program will benefit approximately 250,000 unemployed young people. The Solidarity Ministry has prepared a database for about 18 million poor people so far, through the Takaful and Karama social safety program, which covers the country’s poorest families, Wali mentioned. The program focuses mainly on the poorest areas of Upper Egypt.
It aims to empower all segments of society, especially women and youth, for a comprehensive and sustainable development, and seeks to contribute to eliminating societal gaps that negatively affect the growth and development of society. The Foundation is particularly concerned with the economic and social empowerment of the neediest groups, especially in marginalized areas, especially women and youth, and adopts a strategy based on supporting and building the skills and capabilities of these groups and giving them/them the tools that enable them/them to effectively manage their lives while facilitating their access to Better life chances.
